How do I add someone?

Open a Group, tap the "Settings" (gear) icon in the top right, and select Add Member. You can pick from your phone contacts or type their name manually.

Why isn't my contact showing up?

Ensure you have granted Contacts Permission in your device settings. If they still don't appear, try searching by their phone number exactly as it is saved.

Can I split unequally?

Yes! We support three split types: Equal Split (divide evenly), Shares/Percentage (proportional split), and Exact Amount (specify exact amounts for each person).

Payments & Tipping

Do you handle real money?

No. Split Mate tracks who owes whom. You settle the actual debt using your preferred method (Cash, Venmo, UPI, Bank Transfer) and then mark it as "Settled" in the app.

I tipped but didn't get a confirmation!

Thanks for the support! If the "Received" dialog didn't appear, don't worry. Check your email for the App Store receipt. If you really want to see the confetti, you can try clicking the Pay button again—we automatically detect and clean up past transactions so you won't be charged twice.

Account & Privacy

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile > Settings and look for the "Delete Account" button at the bottom. This is permanent and wipes all your data from our servers.

Why do you need my phone number?

We use it solely for OTP Verification to ensure you are a real person and to help your friends find you securely.
